Christmas at Symondsbury Estate 2025

Wholesome, thoughtful, and full of heart
This year, we’re doing Christmas a little differently.

Instead of our large, bustling 3-day market, we’re focusing on a smaller, more curated celebration – one that reflects what matters most to us at Symondsbury Estate: nature, craftsmanship, sustainability, community, and fun for the whole family.

Join us for two beautifully festive days:

Friday 5th December
Merry & Bright | 4pm – 8pm

A heart-warming evening of community and cheer. No market. Just festive spirit, mince pies, Christmas carols and luxurious late night shopping.

Expect:

A magical Christmas Trail with a chance to win a luxury hamper

Singing around the Christmas tree with Rock Choir & Symondsbury School Choir

Mulled cider, delicious festive takeaway food and mince pies

Santa’s Grotto (fundraising for Bridport Young Performers)

Late-night shopping in Manor Yard with tastings, discounts & gift wrapping

Free Christmas floral demonstrations by international florist, Tracy Fox

Children’s hot chocolate café, storytelling & reindeer food station

Saturday 6th December
AN ARTISAN CHRISTMAS: Pop-Up Christmas Market & Wild Words Literary Festival |10am – 4pm
Pop-Up Christmas Market

A handpicked selection of 19 local artisans and makers inside the Tithe Barn – perfect for finding beautiful, meaningful gifts. Plus:

Woodland Fairy workshops for children with artist Caroline Parrott

Live performances from Bridport Young Performers & Bridport Primary School Choir

Delicious food, mulled cider, and festive treats

Santa’s Grotto returns!

More tastings and festive shopping in Manor Yard

Wild Words Literary Festival

A brand-new literary event celebrating stories rooted in nature, sustainability and local life. Join six inspiring authors for engaging talks and book signings (perfect for Christmas gifts!).

Tickets: £9 per talk.

Speakers include:

Jeni Bell & Karen Heaney – Authors of 111 Places In Dorset That You Shouldn’t Miss: Hidden Gems Of Dorset

Tony Kirkham – Author of Arboretum and Remarkable Trees: The Secret Life of Trees

Tim Laycock – Author of Dorset Folk Tales and Dorset Folk Tales for Children:  Once Upon a Dorset: Tales, Tunes & Local Legends

John Wright – Author of the Forager’s Handbook: A Forager’s Journey through the British Countryside

Mark Carwardine – Author of Last Chance to See: Wildlife Adventures with Douglas Adams, Stephen Fry and Other Animals!

This Christmas, come and experience a slower, richer kind of festive celebration — a wholesome one that feels like home.

We can’t wait to welcome you.
