Your perfect holiday needs the perfect location

Grade-II listed Duck Street Cottage, with its thatched good looks, is the last in a row of golden cottages right in the heart of Symondsbury village.

They were built in the early 19th Century for farmworkers, made using local sandstone from Sloes Hill which peeps over your intimate courtyard garden. Full of wonderful original features, such as the huge inglenook fireplace which would have been used by former residents for cooking up hearty suppers, it is now the ultimate romantic getaway for two.

Duck Street Cottage Overview

Step through the front door of Duck Street Cottage and you’ll find yourself in the charming sitting room where you can just kick off your shoes and cosy up in front of the fire for a romantic night in. Upstairs, what was once three little bedrooms have been knocked through to create one spacious bedroom with a sumptuous, super-king-sized bed and contemporary bathroom, giving you plenty of space in which to unwind.

It’s only a five-minute stroll away from Symondsbury Estate, so you can pick up delicious croissants from Symondsbury Deli for breakfast in bed, or perhaps head to the Symondsbury Kitchen to indulge in a Full English. Then, for date nights, a short walk along country lanes brings you to the cutest of country pubs or head a little further on foot and you can reach the vibrant bars and restaurants of Bridport. If you’re looking for a place to holiday with friends, but would like your own space too, you can book it with the Old Post Office (directly opposite) to accommodate 7 people in total.
