Tie The Knot

Wedding are always such a special affair at Symondsbury, where we work hard to help couples celebrate their special day in their own unique style. So it is always exciting to bump into couples who have come back to visit or celebrate an anniversary.

We recently caught up with Cally and Will who had come to stay on the Estate and visit the café to celebrate their first wedding anniversary.

Cally and Will married here last July and transformed the Tithe Barn and garden into a beautiful festival themed space incorporating their love for the countryside by filling the barn with wildflowers and handcrafted details which made a wonderful backdrop for their day.

Allowing couples the freedom to decorate the venue to suit their personality and style makes every wedding to be unique and special to those involved. We love seeing how the same space is transformed to look completely different for each wedding and Cally and Will’s special day was no exception.

Cally is an artist and designer and Will is a videographer so it is no surprise that they were able to use their artistic skills to create a visually stunning day. Each element of their wedding was thought through to the tiniest detail, from the fabric chosen to create Will’s suit (inspired by the jacket worn by George Harrison in the 60’s) to the chains of wildflowers matching the embroidery on the bridesmaids’ dresses.  Getting everyone to sing along to God Only Knows by the Beach Boys and With a Little Help From My Friends, was a great addition to the ceremony and set a feel good tone for the rest of the day.  Happy memories!

During lockdown many people realised how important family and friends are and how much we have all missed spending time with each other.
