Old Post Office – Keen to return

As with other previous reviewers, I was a little reluctant to provide what will be revealed to be a glowing review of the Old Post Office as my family are very keen to keep it our little secret. But here goes… With grandparents, mum, two teenage boys and a nervous rescue dog in our party – we were delighted that all of our varying requirements and more were covered by this wonderful cottage on the Symondsbury Estate.

The teenagers spent many hours playing table tennis in the games room and using the trampoline. The grandparents and mum enjoyed several coffees and meals at Symondsbury Kitchen, a 5 minute walk up the road. The dog enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the enclosed back garden and was more than keen to climb Colmer’s Hill – from which stunning views of the Dorset countryside and the coast could be enjoyed.

All of us benefited from the close proximity to Bridport and West Bay and other seaside spots ‘down the road’ such as Beer. Home comforts were on hand in the cottage, from a well stocked kitchen to fluffy dressing gowns for everyone, and even a welcome hamper of local produce. We all enjoyed it so much that we are very keen to return as soon as we are able!
